7 Questions to Ask When Hiring a Langley Home Inspector

When you are hiring a home inspector in Langley you want to make sure that you have hired someone with an excellent skill base, who will do a great job without taking up unnecessary time or money. Here are a few questions to ask!

1. What’s your background?
Find out what education and background your Langley home inspector has. How long have they been in the industry, and are they specifically skilled in residential inspections? Do they have any specific certifications or training that could be beneficial?

2. Do you belong to any professional associations?
Membership in a professional association shows that your local home inspector is accountable to a wider organization, which means that they will likely do their job well.

3. How long will the home inspection take?
This gives you an idea of how thorough the inspection will be, and helps you understand the timeframe involved.

4. What will the inspection cover?
Ask this question so you know exactly what your home inspection will include, and maybe more importantly, what it may NOT include. You should expect to have every aspect of the home inspected, inside and out, so if there’s something you are specifically concerned about, make sure it will be covered.

5. What will the inspection cost?
Your Langley home inspector should be able to give you a good idea of the total cost, if not the final amount in advance.

6. Am I able to attend the inspection?
If you are able to go with the inspector for the inspection you may be able to better understand what comes out in the report.

7. When can I get the final report?
The final report is important so you know what, if anything, needs to be repaired in the home. Your financial institution may also require this.
